Delete Your Account

WorkMart allows you to delete your account and request deletion of your associated personal data at any time. This page explains how to do it and what happens to your data afterwards.

How to delete your account (in the app)

Open the WorkMart app on your device.
Tap the Profile tab (bottom-right).
Tap Settings (gear icon, top-right).
Scroll down to the Account section.
Tap Data & Privacy.
Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete my account.
Confirm the deletion when prompted.

Your account will be deactivated immediately. Personal identifiers are anonymized within 30 days.

Can't access the app? Request deletion by email

If you are unable to sign in or access the app, you can request account deletion by emailing us:

Email: workmartjobs@gmail.com
Subject line: Account Deletion Request
Include: Your registered email address and/or phone number so we can verify your identity.

We will verify your identity and process the deletion within 30 days. You will receive a confirmation email once deletion is complete.

What gets deleted immediately

Your public profile (name, photo, bio)
Push notification tokens
Saved jobs and preferences
Active session data
Active jobs are cancelled (with escrow refunds if applicable)

What is retained for legal compliance

Indian law (IT Act 2000, Prevention of Money Laundering Act, Income Tax Act) requires us to retain certain records even after account deletion:

KYC documents (PAN, Aadhaar, DL)	5 years	Regulatory compliance (IT Act, PMLA)
Payment & transaction records	7 years	Tax compliance, audit requirements
Anonymized job completion records	3 years	Dispute evidence
Chat messages	1 year	Dispute resolution, safety

All retained data is stored with AES-256 encryption and access controls. After the retention period expires, data is permanently and securely deleted.

Data export

Before deleting your account, you may request a copy of your data by emailing workmartjobs@gmail.com with the subject "Data Export Request". Your export will be prepared within 30 days.
